The Capitol Merman – Washington, D.C.'s Merman

 His journey began with a strong foundation in science and aquatics. After earning his Biology Pre-Med degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018, he worked as a Programs Manager at SwimRVA, developing aquatic safety curriculums and overseeing 3,000+ daily participants. (Fun fact: SwimRVA houses the only 50-meter pool from an Olympic Trials now open to the public!)

In 2019, he purchased his first tail and attended his first merfolk convention, diving headfirst into the industry. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the mermaid world, performing at major events like the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, Ohio Renaissance Faire, Katsucon, and Awesome Con. He also co-founded Syren Symposium, a gathering dedicated to uniting and empowering merfolk through workshops, performances, and networking.

 As a Wander Wave Representative for Mertailor, a globally renowned mermaid tail company, he helps bridge the gap between dreamers and their perfect tails. (Fun fact: Mertailor’s founder, Eric Ducharme, started designing tails at just 12 years old and has since crafted tails for Hollywood productions, including Disney!) He is also a proud member of the Appalachian Mermaid Society, fostering community growth and advocacy for merfolk across the region.

With another highly anticipated performance in April 2025 at The Virginia Aquarium alongside visionary leader Nicole from Visual Artistry Entertainment, Mornenion’s journey continues to inspire. Whether performing for private corporate events, local charities, or enchanting guests at birthday parties, he brings the magic of merfolk to life—one splash at a time.
